Empowering EMRS Students with Digital Skills: Digital Transformation Van Programme
PM Shri Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Chhurikala, Korba, Chhattisgarh,
successfully hosted the Digital Transformation Van Programme – “Digital Literacy for
Transforming Lives” from 1 to 28 February 2026 and 1 to 30 April 2026. The initiative was
undertaken as a CSR initiative of Indus Towers and implemented by the NIIT Foundation,
with the objective of strengthening digital literacy, IT skills, cyber safety awareness,
emerging technology awareness and financial literacy among students.
Through structured, hands-on certificate courses, students received practical exposure to
Digital Literacy, Basic IT and Microsoft Office, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), and
Financial Literacy. During February, 120 students participated in the certificate courses, while
140 students participated during April, reflecting strong student engagement and interest in
acquiring digital skills.
The programme was coordinated at the school level by PGT Physics, in collaboration with
the Digital Transformation Van team comprising Mr. Jitendra Rathore (Project Coordinator),
Mr. Shubham Poddar (IT Trainer), and Mr. Badal Goswami (Mobilizer). The school facilitated
student participation, scheduling and smooth conduct of the training sessions.
A key feature of the initiative was the provision of free certificate-based courses, giving
students formal recognition of the digital competencies acquired through the programme.
The certificates were distributed in the presence of principal of PM Shri EMRS Chhurikala,
along with the programme team and school coordinator.
The initiative has contributed to greater digital confidence, improved practical IT skills,
awareness of cyber safety and responsible internet use, and exposure to emerging
technologies and digital financial practices. By bringing structured digital learning directly to
the school, the Digital Transformation Van has helped equip EMRS students with essential
skills for education, everyday life and the evolving digital future.
