Nima Doma Bhutia, a student of EMRS Gangyap, West Sikkim, became the first woman basketball player from Northeast India to represent the Indian Senior Women's Basketball Team. Beginning her journey on village courts and participating in school and CBSE national-level competitions, she steadily progressed through university-level tournaments before earning selection for India's Senior Women's Basketball Team for the pre-Olympic qualifiers in Malaysia.
