JAYAKAR (Jan Jatiya Yuva Antriksha Karyakram) is a space education programme undertaken for selected EMRS students in collaboration with ISRO. The 7-day workshop took students on an interactive journey through various celestial phenomena, planting theoretical knowledge with hands on activities, simulations and real-world applications.
This is a residential programme, first phase of which was held w.e.f. 24th May, 2024, wherein students from six EMRSs i.e., EMRS Balanagar, EMRS Kuravi, EMRS Rishabh Dev, EMRS Dadiya, EMRS Bajjanahalli & EMRS Gangannagaripalli from the State of – Karnataka, Telangana & Rajasthan, have participated. Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs & Chairman, ISRO inaugurated this programme.
This programme has been designed to provide space tutoring to young minds for inculcating interest in space exploration. A robotic kit was also given to students for first-hand experience of working models. The objectives of the programme are:
- To acquire domain knowledge in astronomy and space exploration.
- To understand the activity with other domains of knowledge.
- To enable students to understand planetary systems, astronomy, space science technologies and applying their learning to solve real-time problems.
- To stimulate students with creative thinking and innovative propositions in regulating whatever they have stimulated while learning the subject.
